The sugar solution has had fantastic results.however should only be used as a last result, ppl do not yet know if it improves the tree because the tree can take up sugar and skip a phase I.e photosynthesis, means the sugar can be used strait away or the other theory is that it improves soil condition like more mycorrhizae in the ground thus improving the trees roots and water and nutrient uptake.

Like I said a last resort but I think this is a definite urgent case. And it can't hurt to try and save the tree, plus it should really piss the residents off too.maybe a month or two after the repeated sugar treatments mulching could be done to further help the soil and tree.

Hope this goes well

One of the Pines had been drilled but not poisoned but the other one I think is done for. About 8 drill holes all full to the brim. Idiot got the fright of his life when i started hurling abuse at him. Police were really good and took the whole thing seriously. They put the fear of god into the poisoner. Now here's hoping that the prosecution goes the whole way.

We think they were poisoned for a couple of reasons; the view for one of the flash houses up on the hill and because someone complained about the leaf litter so that seems sufficient reason.

I love a story with a Happy ending! Result indeed TTMan:thumbup:

Could have been a happier ending for the trees though.

Three an,what is the plan of action for the trees now.or is it a wait and see game

It would be interesting to find out what mixture of Tordon and Roundup he was using. If it was a high proportion of Tordon and a weak consumer strength Roundup then your trees should recover with a regular foliar feed until the Tordon has been diluted. However if it was a low amount of Tordon and agricultural strength Roundup then I dont really fancy the trees chances, However trees are very resilient if given a bit of TLC and I would certainly give a mulch in an attempt to keep the moisture content of the tree up.
