A drill will just turn the screw to either go in or out but the impact driver kind of hammers the screw in at the same time. If you can imadgen it like trying to drill concrete with a normal drill it's slow and hard work but if you switch it to hammer it's a lot easier. Hope this makes some sense lol

That looks good Ty.

I still don't understand the difference between a drill and an impact driver?

I've mangled enough screw heads with my nasty and gutless B&Q drill.

An impact driver works very differently. When the load is light it spins fast but when the load increases it works by giving very short burst of power. This stops the screw bit camming out of the screw head and puts almost no twisting load onto your wrist. I also have a 55NM Dewalt cordless and I have hurt my wrist with the torq it transmits to your arm. By comparison the impact driver I have is 155NM so 3 times more torq but so easy to use and much lighter.

I have an 18v makita and its awesome been driving m10x 200mm long coach bolts today in to sleepers, I also use it to put wheel clamp on trailer as it has so much more power than drill. It is 1/2 weight of drill so for good using above your head all day. you cannot drill with it though as the clutch just chatters. Best tool ever:thumbup:
