After many great engineering minds have looked at my just out of warrantytw230dhb spout end chute, the threads failed months ago, the square holes rounded off up there, and tw recommend buying whole new spout
I noticed my lads have finally cured the flap jumping or dropping every 2 minutes. Modification no 23 hailed as a success with a big thumbs up .

You may laugh, but some 150mm grey plastic pipe, with a little bit of jiggery poky can replace the flap, plus you can leave it at 2 ft long or so to improve chip direction.

I did exactly that mick many years ago when I had an old pezzalarto Chipper and an old pickup with a canopy on. I fixed a 3ft 4” piece of plastic pipe on the nozzle of the Chipper so it would shoot into the back of the pickup.

Balancing act today in some very broad and old Yew trees at Montacute National Trust. Pretty happy with the out come, all silky and Secateurs work so made for a nice sunny end to the week.
