This is exactly what I meant about moving big timber.
If I could get 8x300kg of these slabs (2.4t) in a 3.5t trailer...

Cut the last few slabs off the big cant this morning


You can see the snowy mountains of the Isle of Arran in the distance.

Only photo from today,  I didn't bother with any pictures during the snow or hail,  which is a pity.  It really adds to the atmosphere.

Forgot to say in previous post, but thought it was worth a mention... dismantling a lovely auld sycamore today,  getting towards the end of one big leaning stem low down, chunking it down in meter sections. About three inches in to the first step cut, suddenly about 8 litres of murky liquid starts pissing out all over my left arm. Didn't see the cavity, the piece is completely hollow, and full to the brim with rotten leaf tea. Was not expecting, will definitely be more aware in the future. New shirt needed tomorrow.

Hornets nest in a cavity is the worse thing !

i’d climbed Up a big parkland oak. And 5 mins into chainsawing deadwood. I saw a swarm of them 15’ below. The vibration of the saw had really annoyed them !

i’m thinking how the hell am I going to get down past them without being stung to hell.

i had heard 4 hornet stings and your dead! not sure if it’s true, but did’nt want to find out.

I scrambled out to the end of a big limb on far side, came down real fast, an ran like hell.

i thought id’d put this up keep your eye’s open you just never know !!
