Oak tree to be reduced to 20ft due to decay and failing limbs. It was on a busy road so TM was needed. I had 2 climbers in the tree and 4 of us on the ground. The new 230 VTR was superb and we hardley had to cut any branches. All arisings were left on site. Done by 2.30 and having a pint. Spot on crew and weather helps.

Interesting work Hodge, looks well planned & managed.

Would be keen to see how this oak fairs over the next year or two in terms of epicormic development, if you're ever in the vicinity & get the chance I wouldn't mind seeing/having an update on its progress.

It's not far from me Dave so I will get some pics. The farmer wanted it left like that so it didn't make a hole in the hedge. There was chicken of the woods all over the cavitys.

The last of the 'arisings' away to the tip and one mother of a stump to grind out.

Then the 4 of us started on the 1km long driveway, deadwooding the pines on one side from a MEWP.

The other side, over 300 pines, we may be felling for biomass later in the year.

I sold the arisings from the grinder as well as the chips from the deadwooding of the pines today which paid the labourers wages as well as our 4 course restaurant meal at midday.

I've a new guy from Arbtalk starting a trial Monday as we're struggling to cope with demand.

Mowed the main lawn on Wednesday went home, came in Thursday to find this Ash on the lawn, them damn faries been at it again! Sadly all these high winds we have had lately in Sussex have taken there toll, apparently the split opened up 2-3 inches when the top was waving about.

I don't know about "todays job" going to be a while till I get this lot extracted.

This sums up my day after pricing a chunky, short (40'?) but awkward Monterey Pine at a day instead of a day and a half.

Cracking weather though, dogs had fun, and we are all set for a good yard sort-out tomorrow afternoon, possibly with a couple of cheeky ciders in the sunshine.ImageUploadedByArbtalk1434049795.058282.jpg.236ac4d5b9d7684c8b3c01c8f9571160.jpg
