Finally got to taking down the memorial cedar in the churchyard which dropped a limb in February.

Second pic is what I reduced it to with one pair of batteries in 36v Makita, took up 201 for last bit in the rain before felling the pole.

Third pic shows the slice from below the union which split in two all on its own, so a nice crack had been developing over the summer. Definitely think it would have dropped another lump this winter.

All gravestones still standing and it stopped raining again at the end. Happy days.PSX_20201104_074018.jpegPSX_20201104_074255.jpegPSX_20201104_075341.jpegPSX_20201105_203415.jpeg

We had Two of these trees fall when we had the last storm at Carrisbrooke cemetery on the Isle of Wight, even the roots were torn out of the ground and it smashed through eight Victorian gravestones costing thousands in repairs. Think you did the right thing felling this tree before the winter hits ?

Until I can train fully as a tree surgeon, my current job as an Environment officer includes climbing the cliffs and coastal paths inspecting so I thought it would make a nice change from forests to attach a couple of images of my workplace today ? I would of uploaded a video so you could hear the sea but I do not know how sorry ? hope you are all having a lovely day despite this rain ?x This is Totland on the Isle of Wight ?
