yes-TODAYS job?

Walnut which has been dead standing for 18months plus.

We quoted to remove the tree last year when it didn't come into leaf, removed 25m of privet hedge which was dying starting next to the walnut and spreading (you can see the gap where it was between the holly and the conifer in the foreground).

Armillaria fruiting bodies were around when we removed the hedge and since then an apple tree has croaked also. The client quips that we have ripped out his hedge and now his beloved tree (the house is called walnut tree house by the way) what next!!!

Anyway I was a bit wary to climb it, so access with a ladder and TIP was very low. Timber was dry as a bone and pretty lightweight, anything over 2 inch was rock solid.

Got a hi-ab to come and pick up the stem, so filled some bags with logs to get my monies worth...back to mine for milling👍👍👍

Job last week. Lime split nearly to ground. In a school, bit of a shame to have to take it down but looking at the wind today at might have come down anyway.

Thanks to Arbor Tree Specialists for the stuff in the tree and Face North Forestry for the tractor etc

Today while I did a reduction on a lovely Copper Beech, Sarron (s.Ward on here) repollarded two Black Poplars with five phone lines running through the pollard heads.

For those of you who don't know him, he's a very competent freelancer working in the south east.

Perfect job!
