Twelve hours of 500i and 661, twelve litres of mix, picking it from the stack with a telehandler. Spot the dog. Also spot the kid who turned up with his dad as I was finishing. Gave him some mix with a bit of chain oil in to get his campfire going. Gave instructions to not lose his eyebrows. According to his dad when I got back from putting the telehandler away, he still did nearly set himself on fire.
 

No. I’m not a parent. Yes, people occasionally entrust me with their children. Yes, I let them drive the skidsteer and shoot guns. No, I don’t get a lot of repeat business.

I first learnt to drive on site with my dad supervising us - he was on site... somewhere - aged about 12. Nothing wrong with that.

I was young when I started driving ( the beauty of farm living ) and I wouldn't be surprised if my son was even younger. His Mum used to let him drive our car to the school bus on a morning! 😀

I'm having a good day too. I've just received a VAT refund and will soon be giving it to a very affable local machinist for a pink prototype. And a mate just gave me a Stihl combi can he's had unused in the shed forever. And a client paid on time without being reminded. A short but welcome series of fcking results.

 

Here's to us, Mick!

 

Now if the weather could just calm down, I can go and strim the allotment. With a strimmer.

I had a very easy day. Local driveway guy has a baby birch for me to pull out next week I may be able to pull it by hand, along side a similarly small elder. Roots out but they wont be big.

 

He mentioned about moving some left over bricks, I said my friend with a van could do it, but he turned out to be too lazy.

An easy 60 quid for the weeks petrol then.
