willow pollard??

I have 30 odd to re-pollard at home.... every time I drive past them I'm reminded about how desperate they are to be done, starting to lose the odd limb now so it's well over-due.....

Some of them can be horrid things to work on, and by god don't they generate some brash.....

 

Can I smell smoke....? Manitou, fork, bonfire.....

Whats the nature (reason) for a job like that

Just curious

They were re-pollarded because they were last done in the 1970 and they had lost some limbs and most of the bases had rot in then and they wanted to keep them or loose them. The work was carried out for Suffolk County Council in the Dedham vale for The Managing A Masterpiece.

There nice when theres nothing under them horrible to rig out as its quite hard to tell how solid they are.

 

Here is one i did this year nothing under it so was just a case of going nuts with the 372 :thumbup:
