Hi all I've got a random photo from a client here they've got this growing all over a riverbank on one of their sites. I'm pretty sure it's not a tree :D

Interested to know what it is.

It's definitely not himilayan balsm, which is one of the more common river bank invasive species.

Thoughts on this are welcome :-D

its something like water cress/brooklime/fool's parsely aint it?

:dito: 99% sure its a native, although a better photo would confirm this, these can spread exceptionally quickly across small watercourses to the point they appear totally clogged with it, but it will clear over winter.

I wouldnt be worried about it personally.

in fact if its not just plain old watercress then it might be hemlock waterdropwort or similiar umbellifer. Looks very native to me - then its not being invasive its being opportunistic! or something.... if you aint got a wildflower key book , try googlin' them
