You could get a decent td5 or a fully rebuilt all singing all dancing 300tdi on galvanised chassis for that sort of dosh.

the td5 wont pull the skin off a rice pudding,tdi is the way..

300 nice and simple or get one and fit the Tdvs from m and d engineering. That's got more power than the td5. Might be worth having a budget and commissioning a rebuild with someone. You ll get the spec YOU want then.

Great thread guys, been reading bits of it for a week

 

Talking of tooled up 90's on galv chassis, I'm after one soon, I was drooling over this one on ebay

 

but with only 5k to spend I'll have to keep looking

Paint it black so the ne'er do wells don't see it and nick it.

 

I do like that trailer too.

 

Several people have suggested I paint it, I will probably blow a few cans of dinitrol over it once it's lost its shine.

All down to what you want to do with it. If it's over landing you won't go far wrong with that 110 prepped one.

 

The suggestion of finding something to rebuild to your own spec is probably the best one. Find a landy specialist nearby and go through them. They may even find one too.

 

Look on the landy zone forum. Introduce yourself before you post though. The locals can be a bit rowdy.
