Just been thinking (v painful!!) about Land rover's decision to shift freelander production to halewood from Solihull; the reason they gave was to make room for a new production line but i had the thought that maybe they liked the RR, Disco and Defender being called Solihull's finest but were a bit embarresed about the freelander:001_tongue:

It's on hire from Overland, since my place hire new vehicles for 3 years then change them. Even though we have some say in what vehicle we want, the management side of the company orders them, for some reason they didn't order it with a winch or anything, doh!

Plenty of space behind the seats, that do actually tilt back a fair way, have a filing cabinet in the middle. Apparently it would of cost somewhere in the region of a grand to get that mini section behind the main door to open, but yeah if you like it i can post up some more pics, it's currently a one off machine from them. The website is http://www.arbtruck.com you've probably heard of them before.

Dan,

If you were able to post some more pics of the cab I would be grateful. The standard LR cab is in my opinion a bit small, and the double cab a bit big (wastes loadspace), but that looks just about right. If I ever get round to building my own vehicle (or getting one built to my spec) a cab like that would be ideal.

It'd be better still if the small side panel was hinged from the back (like the back doors on the Maxda RX8) to give a full opening. Now that would be really useful !

Thanks,

Roger.
