I used to love music...I played the piano.....violin....I had music on 24/7...went to see gigs....live bands, clubbing for years . Music began to do my head in:( for a couple of years I never listened to anything anymore...........until about a week ago my climbing buddy lent me his I pod and BOOM!....I am enjoying cycling to a soundtrack...relating life and scenery to the tunes I am listening to! Life is good again:):)

cycling with headphones + music in is not very wise.

 

you lose the ability to hear dangers around you...

 

that said... if you are going to do it(i understand why you would!) use one ear piece on the pavement side leaving the roadside ear open.

Wise words , but on the plus side , you cant hear the fishermen calling you not very nice things after you,ve rode over their £3,000 pole that was laying across the towpath (right of silkys pic)

Good morning Jarbman......how can I put this?....I've been cycling for over 40 years......every day for about 20....at the moment I cycle 14 miles per day...I wear hi vis and a helmet.....I cycle almost exclusively on cycle paths and the Thames path...:):):) ok I'm off on my bike now to look for a tree to climb...
