Thats what prompted me to give em a call, that and the fact I already have a truck and chipper insured with them. I,m with Trust at the moment until the tenth of Jan. £538 sounds excellent, dont stir things up just accept the quote and pay all up front. Judging by other quotes I`m happy with £823, I`m paying £650 to Trust for £5 million P/l and nothing else. Oh and an excess of £750 compared to £250 with the NFU.

NFU insurance is bizarre. I was with them for 4 years paying £400 - £500 untill I told them my turnover was going up and I was taking on a full time employee. They said I could no longer have a "tradesmans" policy and would need a business one. Fair enough I thought and waited for the quote....: £7000!!! I obviously went else where. The agent said they were basicaly saying they did'nt want my business. BTW I had never made any claims.

 

I would love to know how they work these qoutes out.

Sorry to raise this boring subject again. Ive just received a qoute of £823.00 for £2.5 million P/L,£10 million employers and £3000 sml tools. Its more than I was expecting, how does it compare to others?

 

500 squid for 2.5m PL, 5m ENVIRO Liab, 10K tools, no employers tho as I'm not.

mine has just come thru the post today, from the nfu

public liability 2.5million

environmental liability 1million

employers liability 10 million

hand tools up to 5000+2 items of 1200 quid

covering up to 2 full time staff

100k turnover

583 quid for the lot yabadabadoo

 

Actaully, I just looked at my policy and its almost exactlly the same as this, NFU and 583 quid too! Weird - same cost happening like that! Scotland and Devon you see - all the best people live ere!

havent a clue what it is mate but it is under the heading of public liability.
