Stop messing about with toy chippers rob and get a decent one, you won't regret it, Timberwolf 150 or a Jensen, end of. I can't speak highly enough of Timberwolf, easy to look after and they hold their value. Remember the saying, you get what you pay for!!

I full agree thats why i bought a new Greenmech!

I don't see any emoticons but I assume that is a joke?

Have you thought about putting the 5k down as a deposit on a new 150/190 and getting the rest on finance. Means you get a brand new machine so you know it's history. If you've got the work to justify it might be the right move.

Twice your budget but global recycling have a Bandit 90. You'll retire before you wear it out.

You'll grab yourself a nice 935i for that money, I paid £4150 for mine 9x13" in feed 50hp, solid as you like. I've not had very few problems with it and the few i have had were easy to fix at home, bar sorting out the no stress which it didn't have when I bought it which Vermeer did same day when we brought it up and had all parts on the shelf! I won't be changing chippers any time soon. Also it was perfectly usable without the stress control as being such a beast it will chip up to around 6" without slowing at all.

Why a joke?

I am pretty sure IC trees already highlighted the right parts.

Mainly about Timberwolf being a a great chipper and you get what you pay for.

Timberwolf are at the cheaper end of the market for a reason, you do get what you pay for.

Back on the topic

Woodchipper schliesing mx200 6" | eBay

Jensen A530 Woodchipper Wood Chipper | eBay

I would wait and stretch your budget. I dont know either seller, neither have I seen either machine but I would be pretty sure these will be twice the chipper a 5k Timberwolf is. Also you wont be getting greasy replacing bearing once a year.

The Jensen will not cost much to repaint to make it look good too.

Cheers
