So then ...

I'm not normally one to stay out of some good old arbtalk 'discussion' but on this occasion I am taking a step back from voicing my opinion and possibly hiding behind a cushion :001_tt2:

Massive waste of money?

Worth every penny?

Whats your opinion, discuss

...all I'm saying for now is that I'm sick of the news talking about it every single bloomin day, you can talk anything to death!

I have to agree with the news thing. Just get it over with already.

And IMO a waste of time. Ok so it's tradition if you like to do these games but in this economy is it really worth it.

Billions spent on a huge stadium that will get used for the games and then used for football or some other sport once in a blue moon. Bit like the millennium dome........

Suppose to be good for the economy, I really can't see it somehow, plus we can't even provide the security for it all.

And you lot dont even live near it!

Imagine living near one of the Olympic sites and in order for the rest of the world to arrive and everything go to plan, they change the traffic light patterns.

12 mile tail back for the blackwall tunnel at 7 am the other day, all because of one set of lights on the A2 have been changed and about 5 cars at a time get through.

Thankfully I was going the other way.

It has absolutely screwed with most peoples working lives/commute. I have not encountered so many idiot drivers on the roads since they changed the light cycles last week. People are just doing stupid things. Today for example. at 6.20 this morning, at a filter traffic lane to turn right towards Beckenham, I was about the 18th car. It took 5 cycles of the lights to get through. In that time at least 3 people left the queue to accelerate to the front and barge their way in or go through the red light.

Last example... yesterday working for Mick Stockbridge. I left his home and it took me 35 minutes to get down the A2 to within 3 miles of my house. It took me 35 minutes to do the final 3 miles!!!

Rant over.

I am seriously thinking of leaving the country till it is over.

couldnt care less really, it just winds me up! also its ironic that the main themes of the opening ceromony are the things that the governments of this country dont care a toss about- village and country life and people. waste of time and money!
