If you give any of the "occasional" user saw any serious use the plastic bits inside start to melt, if you find they are OK for a work saw your not working hard enough!!! :sneaky2:

I have two MS170's main reason I have em is for cutting limbs at the chipper and for my groundy to learn chainsaw use with, they are a nice little saw to learn the basics on.

I've had mine for four years.

Quite agree Dean, for learning the basics on ya can't go wrong, great little cheap learning saw and handy for those small jobs.

I was expecting Huck or someone to say "So have you progressed off the Basics yet Dean ?"

I left myself wide open on that one..:001_tongue:

Thats why i bought one, it is my first saw and i didn't want to spend hundreds of pounds on a bigger saw just to ruin it. Even a decent second hand 'pro' saw is commanding top money... Although i do seem to now have C.A.D. so i am looking at a bigger one already ;)

If you clean out the clutch casing daily you shouldn't get the plastics melting problem, when the casing is crammed with crap, it can't get air in to cool things down.

It`s down to sensible use and know the limitations of the tool`s at hand..

Pointless having a massive powerful chainsaw around the chipper, Hedge laying or fencing but i suppose it would be good for the posing aspect eh Quipy just as long as its got a white handle :laugh1:
