The 2011 stretch airs are great. No zip issues and very comfy. Hard wearing too. Got a nick in the fabric with a silly in feb, if it was hiflex I'd be able to put my arm in the hole now. It hasn't changed at all on the stretch airs.

Rick try the sip progress. They seem like a good pair. They are stretch air money though!

Sip are well made and tough but I wouldn't recommend them for climbing-They're heavy, not very stretchy and my god they are hot!

I love stretch airs but 2 pairs now I've had the crocth go after 6 months. One time was just jumping on a truck! Im not the only one either. I think if your paying that monney they should be lasting through that.

Wear them higher on your waist. I nearly ripped mine on their second day by wearing them too low. If they are sat just that 1cm a bit higher they are a lot comfier too

I think given that hi-flex come with a carpet sample style set of patches that Stihl are fully aware of how 'fragile' they are haha.

I also have a set of their basic green type A trousers that are rip-free 2 1/2 years down the line, they are tough as nails. I use them on nasty jobs where fighting through brambles/pyracantha etc. Think they cost me £75.
