Evening all,

Usually im ok with pricing my jobs, but could do with some help on this one..

I was contacted by a 'maintenance man', who wants a price for clearing alot of over grown shurbery by a pub.

All the shrubs to be chipped an left on site, and all the stumps to be treated. Shrubs are mainly all Pyracantha

In pictures 1,2 its clear someone started it, but give up!!

All that will remain is the 2 sycamore trees in the last picture.

iv taken some pictures to help show you..

Would you go in with a fixed price, or day rate?.. what would you do?

2 ways i would do that job

first one if iv got alot of work 3ton digger scrape it all out in a day

2nd way if u ent much work use a clearing saw with a saw head cut the bottems and pull out with a pair of welding gloths

i would be looking at the digger 1 day 2 men dont chip it lift in the the back of the van and find a tip site to burn

or burn on site

3 ton digger hear cost me £110

if u can burn on site £500

if u have to take it all away £600

thats what i would do

Id slice and dice the top off :ridinghorse: (horse being optional - hedge cutter, long reach or otherwise, being favourable) and then go at it with a small chainsaw.

Once the top is off to ground level id rip the roots out with a small digger and clean it right up. Applying herbicide later on once the new shoots appear.. :thumbup1:

Or if in doubt burn it :gasthrower: or fire things at it :BoomSmilie_anim:

Only kidding bout the last bit
