Today i've changed the fuel, oil, air filters and changed the oil then took it out for a good run. No change . The bloke in the motor factors said there may be a filter on the fuel pump that could be blocked and causing the excessive smoke is this correct ??? I also noticed that the engine is miss firing at about half revs and this is when the smoke appears. Any more ideas?? :confused1:

alright mate, is it a turbo?

also had this recently took out the lambda sensor (bolts into the exhaust before the cat) give it a thorough clean with carb or brake cleaner and refit, when blocked they tell the ecu to richen the mix causing bad fuel consumption and excess smoke / exhaust gas!

cheers

Cheers,

It's the non-turbo (98) on a R plate so no cat either. It's only done 75k miles. I want it MOT'd so i can get shot of it, i'm after a small van and can't justify keeping the old truck.

Nozzels and seals on the injectors . After a while they dribble constantly rather than squirt at the right time . This unburnt fuel finds its way into the exhaust making the smoke . Do all the other things mentioned and get exchange injectors as also mentioned .
