Jago Keen was just talking about Massaria on Country File.

Checking plane trees along the Thames at Henley.

Not found any to date.

I was at college with Jago at Merrist Wood in late 80's

Fascinating.

Not having any experience in Plane trees I can only liken it to old squirrel damage on Beech, they rot in a very similar way and then shed limbs.

This is worrying for me i'm due to survey Henley in August and they have a number of Planes dotted through out.

Ive a mate who does a bit for westminster and they're starting to do Aerial inspection of their planes, theyve found plenty, theres talk of 3-6 month aerial inspections,

i just read this thread through from the start it is very informative and wonderful photos a credit to all who put it together a big:thumbup: which will help the untrained eye spot the problems

just a small question does this fungus/disease affect the oriental plane trees
