another fairly large massaria/auricularia combo failure.

Ive only ever seen that combo in you shots, never in the field. Is the auricularia causing a secondary white rot??

The planes are in st johns wood opp lords cricket ground. No pics im affraid as i keep breaking my smartfone. need to get a normal camera.

Yes, and seems to be this that is causing larger diameter branches to fail as opposed to where we are finding just Massaria.

 

We are starting to see the combination of pathogen and secondary infection with increasing frequency.

 

Will be focussing more on the branches we see auricularia on now

 

Good thing is that its a fairly persistent fruit body and can be seen from the ground relatively easily.

No other fungi was present. These are situated in a private square garden Nr Marble Arch. We had cleaned them out a year ago. There was evidence that the massaria had spread from the wounds from sub laterals we had removed a year earlier and was killing off the main lateral...if you get what i mean.
