Iveco 35c11 struggling to tip

Hi

 

My truck has started to not want to tip when it's got more than half a load of chip in it.

 

I know nothing about what to do!

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

Check all of the connections between the battery and tipper unit - if there is a bad connection or damaged cable it can massively reduce the power of the electric motor.

Check there is enough oil in the tank for the ram.

There could be a number of things but the primary ones are

 

Pump is weak (worn) leading to low effort

 

Or

 

The return valve is defective, they occasionally stick partially open which means not all the pump pressure gets to the ram leading to low effort.

I had the same problem with my old Transit. First I found the fluid level was a bit too low then I discovered the valve was dodgy. Simple fixes luckily.

Hydraulic oil might be low, check the reservoir level when the tipping body is in the down position. It should have a full level marked on it.

If it is not then fill it up.

If it is then its beyond my knowledge of them

Don't tip the body and then remove the return valve without properly supporting the body - you'll either end up with a very sore head or otherwise get cut in half. You'll definitely end up with oil everywhere.

Haha it's not broken! Just being temperamental! Did you have probs with the tipper in the past then...
