In a few weeks you cannot fail to miss it

If theres lots of little ones in your grass then don't forget you will get them again next year as more seeds germinate

This stuff is phytophotosensetive and can react to uv rays/sunlight years after contact and leave PERMANENT scarring . I'm on anti hystamines for a couple of days . Cover up when brushcutting / strimming chaps . :001_smile:

Morning,

I was exhibiting at a garden show near St Malo on the 17th May when I overheard a chap running a plant stand was lyrical about the majestic Heracleum mantegazzianum.

The French it seems are only just waking up to this toxic menace and so my protests concerning its dangers where ignored as the rantings of an Englishman abroad who has taken to much sun.

I have a very real phobia of this plant, it possibly all stems from watching the BBC day of the triffids.

Actually, I won't go near Gunnera either...

I've got a few spots of it from thursday just past on me arms; strimming, short sleeves, loads of the cursed stuff at an mod site I look after; hate wearing long sleeves when it's hot, sprayed it regularly but the woods the other side of the fence keep seeding it back. I even suggested they got rid of the "grass" on the slopes and just stoned the areas up; leaving the better mowable turf.
