Im training for a marathon on the 1st of July through Hamsterley Forest. Its the first time I've ever done one and the starting line up is limited to 100 (so I'll probably hobble in last)

I did 8 miles tonight and still feel pretty good. Its no where near 26.2 but I'll be ready.

So how far have you ran, cycled or swam today?

Chipped 4T, handballed about 1.5T.

Benched 3.4T, curled 1.6T.

But the thought of running over 26 miles makes me want to cry!

I'll do the Great North Run one day when I get my knee sorted, but that's it.

Fair play to you mate.

So how far do you skate?

Dont really clock distance etc i'm more working on technique at the moment but youve aroused my curiosity now that you mention that .

Need alot of focus for them marathons, not my thing but good luck anyway :001_smile:

done ironman in 2010 & 2011, that involves 2.4m swim, 112m bike followed by 26.2m run so Ive put a few hours in over the years

Build up slowly, no more than a 10% increase in mileage or hours each week, take rest days as they build muscle & strength, drink plenty and eat well. Stick at it and you achieve your goal !

I ran to the toilet this morning :blushing:

Mate used to do marathons and running a few k runs, I gave up when my leg gave up and I tore the muscle, never been right since, just can't run very far without bad pain.

Admiration for doing it, I know I could never run a marathon.
