ms261 needle bearing/play in drive sprocket, common problem??

ur surposed to remove that circlip and drive sproket weekly to grease the bearing.

 

Does anybody remember when husky saws had a hollow end to the crankshaft and a hole in the side so you could shoot grease into the bearing without taking it apart!! What happened to that bit of genius?!

Certain saws still do I believe but it may be me remembering a 385XP I have just ported, the 3120 had a one way valve in the crankshaft exhausting fuel/oil in to the needle bearing.....in many ways, Husqvarna are quite inventive in new technology!

On some saws like the 560xp it's still there

They must have started doing it again then! The 560xp I was using a couple of years ago didn't have it which was a pain coz the clutch is outboard!

Always been there buddy, the t540xp, 550, 560, 576xp all have it

Yes, my 346 NE has a grease hole, ive seens a few Huskies with outboard clutch with it & lets hope it never dissapears completely
