well my theory is that it might me cheaper and more conveniant to use a landy and put up with a few more repairs than to run a tractor etc

 

It certainly works well if you put it with a small tipper and chipper.

If you are towing a lot of weight with a landy make sure the trailer brakes are working/well serviced.

I have been used to towing with heavier vehicles then got in a landy towing 3 tonnes and quicky realised stopping distances going down hill in the wet with a trailer that needs the brakes adjusting have slightly increased.

No accidents but went very pale

I have a td5 110. Bought at 3 years old with 27k on the clock. Had been used to pull a rally car on low loader all its life till then.

 

Now has 90k on it. I'd say since ive owned it around 40k will have been towing, half of that fully loaded.

 

To date its had a front swivel ball, a UJ and an aux fuel pump. NOTHING else above servicing.

 

At near 10 years old now, I think that speaks for itself.

This one is all standard Jon, but I do have a decat and mid straight pipe, and a egr blank for it.

 

The landy tipper I have is already fitted with the above toys and "breathes" really well now:sneaky2::thumbup:

i would go for a 110 200tdi, parts are cheap, super easy to do any job you want, uprated rear axel to cope with heavier towing.... 200tdi is a bullet proof tractor engine just dont expect to go doing 90mph unless its freewheeling down a big hill with your digger behind you :)

 

bushes and brakepads treat as consumables and disc convert the handbrake as the standard ones are pants!

Hiya John got some terrible remoulds on the back which are wearing very quick and Kumho kl71s on the front both pairs been on above 12 months and the Kumhos look brand new. Only keep the remoulds on cos of the name- Greenway Macho Hardrider!...:lol:
