MB Trac?

Could you mount a chipper on front of an mb trac so you could tow a trailer?? Never seen any set up like this. Im thinking a mb trac with a timber crane, front mounted chipper and tipping trailer would be a fairly handy bit of kit?

Absolutely no reason at all why you couldn't, front links & PTO fairly common on ag-spec mb tracs, perhaps more so on the continent than here...

somewhere on you tube there is an mb trac with front mounted chipper and mowi crane with hi tip chip body mounted behind the cab

It would be a perfect setup if that suits the kind of work you do, otherwise it'll be a money pit from hell.

You would have a hell of a lot between you and the front of the chipper.

 

A mog with front mount is not great for getting out at some road junctions, but this would be far worse.

There was one at the APF last time between the A C Price stand and Atkinson Vos. I cant remember the guys name but I am sure he was part of the Atkinson Vos demo maybe logbaron could advise.

 

My forward control MB has hazohack chipper on the back with 3 m3 fork lift tipping chip bin on rear platform and log deck on front platform over the engine. All I need now is tow hitch on the chipper so I can drag the forwarding trailer behind and use the crane for chipper feed

It's the smallest type of MB trac though; just a 900 model - four cylinder turbo engine with about 95hp. Should do 40kph.
