I have both, an 08 defender that gets washed when it rains, and an 08 freelander that we keep nice. They both have their uses. I would much rather do a long run in the freelander, and off road in the defender.

I love it. Everyone round my way that has one waves. Only difference is some waves are more frantic than others :lol:

To be fair the roads are so pot holed and are inhability to cope with adverse weather it is a joke in this country so you can hardly blame people for wanting to drive 4x4's...

The newer discovery threes have there tow bar stored with the spare wheel. Had someone ask me if they can buy the tow for it?

 

After a bit of a chuckle to myself I opened the boot and showed them the bar. It looks pathetic and I would not want to pull anything with it as I wouldn't trust it, it bolts and pins and looks like the muppets nose.

don't get the problem with not fitting towbars half the country can't tow a trailer some through lack of license some just lack of ability but i always just slung a rope through the pto hole any tow hook would mean even worse ground clearance and i got stuck on the rear cross member often enough

An arbor friend lets us borrow his Land Rover if we ever need to tow large carvings for delivery and I cant for the life of me think why anybody would want to drive one for social or pleasure. The windscreen wipers can't keep up with anything other than sun and its like driving by candlelight when it gets dark!

Why have a three ton hunk of metal if it doesn't earn money. I would not own a landrover if it didn't service my business needs. I couldn't justify driving an amazon if I didn't have 3.5 t to pull about with it and to carry lots of kit, the only other reason I could think of would be to make me feel good about myself.

At the moment my other car is a mini without a towbar
