It's good to be able to relate to peole around you - as it was yrs ago.

I help out with the village churchyard with the bigger jobs, doing it this Saturday but have one problem - my wife just informed me there is a 10min pray session before we start work. How can I get out of that one:confused1:

Good on you for helping them out. Millions wouldn't even think about doing it. Its called community, people helping each other, chatting, knowing you neighbours. Sadly lacking in these times. I am sure they appreciate it as much for the company probably as the work you do as well. If it gets too much tell them, i'm sure they'll understand. I help out the eldery lady next door when i can, small stuff like putting bins out, going to the tip for her. She always looks genuinely grateful for the help, and i hope one day that someone would do the same for me. If there were more folk like you about the world would be a much nicer place. :thumbup1:

Well done for doing it - but as said in other posts you have to look after yourself first before looking after others....

And also hopefully the people you have helped will now in their own way look to help you.

Hi Predator, I recently had to tell my council I couldn't join their community helpers to shift snow because of the list of people I help including gardening, DIY, servicing cars as well as shifting snow.

Just be aware of how much you are doing. We don't know or understand your situation although you have hinted... If you are eligible for and claiming benefits, depending on which you receive, you may be restricted to how much work you do per week paid or unpaid.

Dont fret over this but if you dont already know what you are allowed to do, If you have an advisor, run what you do past them in confidence to have them check that all is ok. Maybe try Citizens Advice if not. It's a wonder we don't sink under all the red tape in this country.

If I've got hold of the wrong end of the stick entirely I'll just shut my big fat gob:blushing:

You sound like a really handy bloke, helpful, concerned and respectful of others. Whatever it is you are going through will have a life span and wont last forever.

Well done:thumbup::thumbup:
