Fuel Strike

With the standards of driving on the roads you would not get me sat in front of 12,000 litres of unleaded for 45k a year . When these drivers arrive at stations its there responsability to decant fuel safely and I bet the H&S paperwork is a nightmare. You will need to be on your guard for people wandering about with phones and fags etc.

I think a full load of unleaded is about 42,000 litres.

As an enplyee you complain about critical issues - through a legal outlet eg a union you are vilified by a Tory government & press.

If you don't complain when there real legitimate issues your screwed. What then?

For those who say - make them self employed, no paid hold, sick pay etc - go get a bloody job. You obviously are not in a happy position so change it as opposed to complaining that someone else earns more money than you do.

Without people making us aware of problems how can we progress? Oh I'm sorry we have to put-up & shut up, suffer in silence & let those that choose to exploit the system (from chavs to bankers) reap the rewards.

So where did this £45K urban myth start?

This is a current advert and while the top end is somewhere near the starting pay is a gulf away

Our client is a nationwide distributor of fuel. They urgently require 2 ADR tanker drivers at there Thurrock location to join the shift pattern of four on, four off or Mon to Fri. ADR tanker experience is essential and a willing to be flexible. Excel...£12.25 TO £19.60 PER HOUR

This government may be many things, but stupid is not one of them. It has been a nice diversion to bigger stories

Israel or a coalition are probably bombing Iran as we queue on the petrol station forecourt, not heard much about the North Sea gas leak/potential environmental catastrophe since the petrol ''smoke and mirrors'' campaign started or the cash for Cameron's time

You need to start listening to radio4 mate :001_tt2:

The gas leak is from a well that was capped 18 months ago, there several mile exclusion zone for boats and many 1000's of metres for air crafts. They are currently trying to extinguish the flair flame on the rig.

No, just leave and get another job.

We have so much legislation and even a minimum wage, exploitation has long since ended, except to those stupid enough to put up with it.
