I need to cross cut butts for firewood I have a fair bit comming in at 2-3ft . I currently use a ms390 . But seems a bit cruel and would be more efficent with slightly bigger saw. I Find a 660 a bit heavy for more than a few hours. I can cut for 6 or so hours with a 390. I am not a big fan of electronics especially if they are know to give bother so that sort of rules out the 441. My favorite saw was a husky about 4 years ago till it blew so would consider another. Advice appreciated from you pro loggers.

For mainly cross cutting Id go for the 460 over the 441 anyhow Steve.

Another one to consider if you are like me and prefer slightly more old school, is the 372 husk. I think they are still available and around 72cc mark. Should pull a 24" chain well in hardwoods all day long.

Your not doubting the anti vibes though!!... Took me about 4 years to get over using those saws and my fingers locking up in some spasmodic mess.

Sprung mounted saws are the way forward !. I also ran a hd filter on my second 460 but it seemed to sap power and it still does not have air injection , feel is a massive bonus in these sort of logging conditions.... You can tap the filter box out every fuel up other wise.

Useful info thanks. I have a 260 for small stuff Ms 390 for 18" stuff. I would like a bigger saw with 25" bar for the2- 3ft stuff, maybe with spare 16" bar am thinking that the vibs should not be too much of a problem as I generally only use a saw a day a week and the big saw would only be used 1/2 a day every few weeks.
