Trailer sides

I made some new sides up for my Ifor trailer so I could bring more logs back from the woods. I can get 3.25 cube on now. Dry softwood so no weight problem.

 

 

When stacked outside our front door there was about 2.25cube of neatly stacked logs.

 

I had hoped I would have had enough to refill my other store.

 

 

We burn in excess of 10 cube a year. The dogs insist on having the fire alight all day.

So 3.25 m3 loose tipped logs in the trailer makes 2.25m3 neatly stacked.

 

That's interesting, I was going ask about that later, as I was trying to work out what firewood we'd used at home this winter from the shed.

how does the mesh stay on the frame?

The mesh is plastic Tensar and is held on by thick cable ties.

Ifor Williams make double sides for you trailer and safer too, my 1 has them but are also ally clad for chips, 3.25m3 of dry soft wood is only about 1.1 tons only and your trailer can carry 2 tons.

thats scary for me all that wood stacked up is it against your home etc as the nearest i have is about 60ft away i do like your trailer though i raised the sides on mine last december on the promiss of some logs in january from a contract in worsley my friendly tree surgeon from haydock but the job did,nt come off etc so its been sat with a flat tyre and full off leaves i will have to get motivated and sort it out nice diy job though propppperrrrrrrrrrr job serves its purpose well

as i did this as i can lift the sides out etc to load and left the front open for longer logs
