Big shot style?

Old Mill Tree Care

I've started climbing SRT (the best system ever) and the only point of irritation is throw lining.

I know I'll get better with practice but I am loosing too much time on every job watching my throw bag go over the wrong branch.

I do domestic work mostly so trees vary in size every day.

So:

Are big shots too powerful for our trees in the UK?

How accurate are they?

Can you fire the bag into a medium sized tree accurately?

Thanks.

I've wondered the same thing, I isolate my anchor and throwline to get up ddrt [should I not be..?!] ... I use the 'swing a cat' method....

I have been considering using a low weight throw bag and one of those 'powerful' handheld catapults to get a line up, like a 'Black Widow' type...

But that's down to expense really... A Big Shot is only as powerful as you pull it...

I will admit good and bad days with a throw line!

Sometimes first throw and others well lets just say don't stand near me :blushing:

Generally now if I've got a number of trees on site i set my rope up In first and then

Set my throw line up in the next so on n so forth that seems to work best and speeds me up
