3:1 is cool as part of a more involved set up, don't overlook the fact that this isn't 'arb' climbing but rope access with arborists present. if the camera guy is on someone's payroll then you're into working at height regs and all sorts of 'unnecessary(?)' stuff. If nothing else, put an additional system on him as a 'safety', belayed/controlled from the ground. sorry to be boring. long live SRT in arb!!

I'd go with your original suggestion. DdRT, pulley at the top, rig him up with just a pulley or HC on his harness to fairlead the rope, then take the tail down to a decent base anchor with a hitch & pulley. Couple of guys pulling, job done. If he's a tub then add in another pulley to get it to 3:1. Have a climber go up next to him [i guess SRT to enable him to keep pace] with radio contact to the ground crew who can then set him up with work positioning once he's up there and make sure all his rig stays put.

Could put a second line round a second anchor as well so that if the hauling crew's anchor or hitch fails he still has a safety line, this could be controlled by the climber alongside him if he's not confident about rapelling himself.

Sounds like great fun!

get a three to one advantage system up with the pinto and dmm revolver normal hitch climber show him to use the hitch and then pull him up to location on the three to 1 advantage, easy street

5:1 is better using a couple of these

I'd say a ground anchored srt system and show him how to use a sit stand method. Have another climber go up a separate line using the same method for moral support and guidance. With the ground anchor use a gri gri or similar to lower him a) if he gets into trouble b) for when he finishes with the cameras. Don't forget he can't work off ascenders so he'll need a work positioning setup of some kind, changeovers can be done by the other climber with him

GRCS or chainsaw winch. have an independant safety line belayed by a third person, perhaps a gri gri.

Used the GRCS to get portly people into the crown when rec climbing! A back up for the camera man is also a good idea.

You could also use a speed line tensioning set up as long as you have a bollard to lock the system off while you re set the system.
