start up costs

hi there im new to all this and im just after some help I am just wondering what the start up cost are for just really basic equipment

You could spend that on a chipper ... Infact you could spend a lot more than that on a chipper.... I borrowed 10k from the bank when I started and brought a truck and chipper neither were great and both cost me a fortune to run ,were unreliable and were well after 4-5 years past knackered.

Thats for 2nd hand gear... He could start with a smiley transit and old vermeer etc...... all depends on budget, but its a bottomless pit out there.....

If your new to it all, does that mean you've got tickets and are starting out? Or not?

 

If to haven't your first couple of thousand will be spent on training, depending what tickets you end up with.

Been asked before this question and somebody replied with £30k which i reckon wouldnt be far out.

15 k for me! And I been in the job 8 yrs working for some one else Hu put me threw training and tickets few grand there as well

just your ppe will cost over 400, then add you hand tools 300+, saws 1000+, climbing gear 600, etc

thats only £2300 it all adds up very quickly and the worst is that most of these things will have been replaced at least once in 5 years but more like twice, if you using it day in day out,

and you still need

your tickets and the groundy , strimmers, hedge cutters, leaf blower, truck, chipper, trailer, fuel incurance, road tax, wages, a yard and these are just the basic costs so,

minum 15K but more like 20k if you buy relable gear
