I saw all the threads earlier in the season about this, i currently have about 4-5tonnes of seasoned sycamore sat in the yard, not selling any before start of december! hopefully by which time people will have become desperate and will pay silly money and i will become rich, ha ha ha.

Good plan!!

I didn't mean to do it - I'm in self denial - it wasn't really me - it's th 19th November and I have just told a customer I have no wood - it feels like an out of body experience. It wasn't that long ago I started my business and I never believed this would happen.

The firewood sellers with Stetsons and Spurs are going to have a field day this year as they come on stream early December.

Not wishing to offend -but a product that is properly dry of the species of wood advertised - invoiced with VAT sold by measureable volume would not have the traits of the 'lassoo brigade' - however a cash only no paperwork 'truck load' of wet leylandi descibed as seasoned would.

i usually have a good stock in but am getting through it this year rapidly.by january i think its green ash for my open fire customers and lower grade seasoned stuff (poplar, softwood etc) for the woodburner customers,i think by then they will be lucky to get ANY wood,i won't put the price up though for my regulars, too honest i here you all say!!

Me too :001_tongue:

Are customers are lucky if its been seasoned for more than 6 months! To be fair on us though we dont advertise it as seasoned wood, it all goes through the business and we havent had any complaints yet :sneaky2:

People will buy wet leylandii no problem what so ever as long as they are getting it cheap.
