Machine and operator hire? 13T excavator.

Hello,

anyone got any experience of day rates for 13T excavator with operator? London location, 3 days-4 days, working alongside 2 dumpers. Straight forward job. I've been getting a few prices but nearly fell off my chair when I read the amounts.

In Wolverhampton you would pay around £200/£230 a day + a delivery and collection charge.

around here it ranges from £27-£32 an hour, wich is not un-reasonable

Thats good, i know people charging that for a 2.5 tonner, Morris Leslie hire out a self drive 7.5 tonner for 80 a day plus delivery, which is a steal in my opinion.

When you think about it these prices are incredibly cheap for the amount of work they do, when you think a bloke and a little stumpgrinder worth £15k would charge that whereas a 50k machine requiring a lowloader to haul it gets very little more.

Some charge extra if they have to use a wagon for transport.

The council are only paying the JCB 3/4X guys £22.50 PH with driver in this area.How does that pay?

could you not just hire the machine in for a week then get a driver ( this is how i drive machines for a mate ) he gets them i drive them

HE SERVICES hire out that size of machine
