Business ambition?

I was wondering what everyone's ambition in business is?

Has it changed since you first started and if so why?

 

Are you happy staying as a small set up to stay involved on the tools and up the trees or do you want to have a large company where anything may be possible.

 

Just interested to hear all your views.....

I just want to make enough to do whatever I want within reason holidays, bikes, cars etc comfortably and not need to worry about it...When I get to that point ill be happy

defo stay small for me, I am happy with decent kit/machinery, regular work and minimal staffing worries.

Stay small for me, I went from project management where I was stressed all the time to a job I enjoy, i don't want to lose that.... But I don't think I'm going to be able to earn a decent wage without growing the business a little.

Keep it small & fun,with a network of good subby's to pull in if needed & go to them when requested.

I guess it all depends, If you love buisness then you'll probably want to grow it, most of us are in the job because we love it and therefore are quite happy staying small and involved.

Hi there for me it's staying small, keeping it very simple , having a great time everyday .

I had originally planned to stay fairly small, but the plan is that in about 25 years time that I will have an established sawmill, employing several people, producing 1000 plus cubic metres of sawn timber a year alongside a sustainable building company with my wife. All of this can be passed on to (as yet non existent) children, and I can retire on the pension of rental income from 6-8 houses I'll have built for myself.
