Seems a bit pointless warming up on small stuff - I normally have a bit of a stretch if i'm climbing bigger trees or doing fiddly branch walks. Dismantling trees doesn't seem to have the same impact on me coz i'm spreading the load evenly over arms/legs/body etc due to the addition of spikes.

..or maybe ti chi Tully on the clients lawn.

i think i should warm up and stretch because 9/10 after tree work i do get muscle soreness.

I think your going to get that whether you stretch or not. Due to the physical nature of climbing your constantly using your muscles which rips them so that they grow, which is probably the pain your feeling. This wont completely wipe out the pain but try eating alot of protein, it repairs your muscles which will take the edge of the soreness. Hope that helps.

I creak when I emerge from my 'scratcher' every morning, so I have to have a good stretch out first thing. If I've been sitting in a wagon for too long on the way to the job, I have a quick warm up/stretch before I climb. Needless to say, the pee-taking is mercy-less!
