CB radio users on here ?

Hi all just wanted to see if there is any CB users on here?

If so I am interested in your mobil set up ?

 

Any one use an Intek 520 or a midland 42multi If so can you give me your reviews on there performance ? And the antenna and length you are using .

I used to use one, gave it up a long time ago, they have been made redundant by the use of private radios tabs and the like.

 

Think that should say only 3 registerd users in the uk, loads of others.

 

Found that there are too many interferences to operate them properly, found a short range and you have to get high up to get any distance.

 

Plus they can be listend into by other people and instructions to workers get confused.

 

Dont bother as there is no one out there to listen to you anyway, if it's for work get some personal radios, much better.

Me and the seatcover used the old cb a lot in the 80's, till the anklebiters came along. Did a lot of DXing from the homebase with a big Dipole. Handles were Overdrive and Cinderella.

I had Amstrad 901 with a k40 in the attic, I was a home baser, handle was big spender. Happy days.

HI RICH ref high up mate where FI lives its 800/900 above sea level and when up the pole 100 ft plus up thats 1000 ft up very good long range here batter then orange :lol:jon
