Oregon's Arborol??!!

Any one had a look at or tried out this stuff from Oregon. It's chain oil but you dilute one litre of it into four litres of water! sounds wierd but Oregon give it a good write-up!

i know of a forester/sawmiller/ntpc trainer that has been using for a year or so, seemed pleased with the results.

 

from what i've heard its much the same as most bio-oils, works well if the saw is in constant use but can gum up your oiler if left sitting in the saw for a while (how long depends on the oil)...

 

 

 

i just signed up for the freebie pack though, so will hopefully be able to offer an opinion based on first hand experience soon

Good to hear a few of you have gone for the freebie trial - hopefully we'll get a good idea of it in a week or so?! I like the idea of it being eco friendly and cost effective - bit scary if it freezes tho!

Bio oils offer poorer lube and gum up also when they contact warm parts of the saw they stick to it like glue.

 

Ill stick with good old oil that works. I mean ok enviro friendly but dont we cut down trees kind of an irony lol.

Very expensive, works out almost the same as regular oil when diluted 4:1 with water as suggested.

 

Good for use around water courses/rivers/canals etc

PLANT OIL USED IT FOR YEARS NO PROBLEMS TWEEK THE OIL PUMP WORKS OUT THE SAME
