First chainsaw, on a budget - advice please!

There is a 346XP on fleebay at the mo . Item # 110809718253 . Its under your budget so far. Bloke says he is retiring from the woods . From the pic it shows there is a blanking plug in the decomp thread. Easy to put a decomp valve back in - - or just be tough !

 

Looks a tidy saw that!

I've tried the Makita's out at a demo and they're a bit lacking; clog real easy and needing a bit more oomph. Go with orange, an MS260 is a good saw. Even when you've accumilated a whole range of saws in time to come, the 260/261 will always have a place on site. don't know much about huskys as i'm a stihl man but mates love them too.

Ha, well, think I'd have to get a new valve then!

 

I've used 365's at work, they're great but I'm looking for something smaller, lighter and easier to handle for myself - I found using the 365 for smaller stuff is using a sledgehammer to crack nuts.
