Finally got round to weighing it of to compare before and after weights

 

Old chip back empty weight 2600 kg

New chip back 2380 kg

 

So gained nearly quarter of a ton payload, only thing is the ride when empty is a little more bumpy because the back is sat up a lot

When I said blast, I meant a light grit blast not bead blasting, just enough to matt it off so it isn,t shiny. It may be better to paint it in the long run and have one of those graphic sign writing jobbies done. Does anyone know what it costs for those fancy graphic sign writing jobs
