If you prefer the 300 there's one here looks tidy, can fit tipper from around £1500-2000 so will cost around the same as the td5. I have a td5 '99 model and had very little trouble with it, best truck i ever had

I think its just that. TD5 are awesome if you don't have any problems, 300 tdi would probably be a much safer bet. tricky one...

Is it a 3050 or 3500kg chassis?

 

The former is worth much less if you want to stay legal. As has been said a new tipper conversion is £2k ish so look at hi cap 110's and possibly have it converted yourself. The early TD5's suffer from oil in the wiring loom which can destroy the ECU. If you go look take the drivers seat up and take the red wiring plug off the ECU, any oil and it could be expensive.

 

You would be buying this one at it's absolute best (new body, new tyres, etc) so it is going to lose money but be hassle free. You could try and find a more used one that won't drop as much but might need a bit spending on it. Swings and roundabouts

I know someone who is selling a completely rebuilt landy on a galv chassis, it has a 3.something litre engine out of a mazda or isuzu or something like that,tipper etc. The info ive given there is about as much use as tits on a fish but i know the mechanic who rebuilt it if you want to know any more about it.Said he was looking for 4kish but negotiable.
