My old man was chatting to a gun yesterday who has marked down everyday it has rained this year. So far since June in the south-west we have only had 60 dry days. The rest of the time it has been raining. It has just started to spit a bit here again but the river was over its banks at lunchtime and back down again by tea time. I currently have 6 sites which we cannot even walk around unless we have wellies on as the water table is so high.

HI MATT it mad mate it rain now mate jon

I am not familiar with the new landscapes around. More fishing spots than ever. And it is every bit as warm as any summer day from this year.

Very peculiar outside today. I am going to go down to my windblow site and extract and process some more wood ;)

Had a large Wellingtonia let go in the woods we were beating in today. I walked past it about 5 minutes beforehand and you could hear the rootplate cracking and groaning. It came down with one hell of a bang. Got a fair few small dead bits down. But the wind is picking up massively at the moment. Already had a gust of 54mph and that was an hour ago. Will be taking my saw tomorrow to help out o nthe shoot i'm at. Up at Delcombe tomorrow. The top of the hill is saturated and its sandy chalk mix with flint mixed in so the trees don't have much to anchor themselves to.
