I know a bloke who's roof is so bad he has a selection of old tin baths in his bedroom to catch the water when it rains.

 

he doesn't see anything wrong with this as he has been doing it for years he tells me.

No, its a grey slate roof, so large stone slabs, if the rain is really, really hard you can get a bit finding its way in, it stopped dripping as soon as the rain eased back to more normal levels. Its fine.
