Had a quick look through the same thread on Treebuzz, can't believe how bad the flaming is there. It's out of control. Some very personal attacks. Fair play to Mr Bullman nipping it in the bud here.

I tried to read the thread on Treebuzz just to see what all the fuss was about. Yeesh, I gave up in the end. Pity some people on there couldn't keep it polite.

There is always far more to these things than we can know from just reading one thread.

There will be a lot of history behind some of those posts, but also a fair bit of bandwagon jumping.

But that said, its not good to read and is of no real benefit to anyone, but then we are all human and say or write things that would be better left un said.

I echo those who are pleased that Steve has prevented that sort of thing on here :thumbup1:

i watched the video.......then i had a gander at the buzz replies, and this one kinda sums it up for me.....

near balance point rigging'

this expression sounds like the kind of thing a corporate advertising/marketing company would come up with to try to sell a pointless product or idea to an unsuspecting public.

It sounds like the kind of contrived BS a yuppie would say to try and impress his idiotic friends, 'hey guys, I'm just gonna do some near balance point rigging, you wanna check it out?'

expressions like 'near balance point rigging' need to be driven out out of our industry before we all turn into a bunch of half baked intellectuals spouting drivel about our work to try and make it sound more impressive when in actual fact its nothing more than normal rigging dressed up as something more complex.......................................

and these are my words........

when the word NEAR is mentioned in our industry its not good, it brings in quotes like NEAR Miss, NEAR Accident witch is not good......if your going balance the limb then get it right, if not hold on tight. Sorry everyone but freedom of speech is well worth it when it comes to newbies reading and watching videos like this even if there is a little flaming involved....
