Cheers for all the replies, has made interesting reading. I have recently been asking around family, friends and my best customers what I could do to improve my image, one of the things most people have said is a local landline, as it looks local, and I think in our area at least there is still a certain stigma with mobile only numbers.

I live with my family at the moment, and I don't think it would be in anyones best interest to have my 15 year old brother answering the phone to potential customers, him not having the slightest idea about trees! A local landline that diverts to my mobile would be the best bet for now I reckon, as if I can answer the phone I will, and if I'm working/driving/otherwise engaged, I will be able to ring them back ASAP.

I'll look up some of the links, thanks again everyone.

My virgin media landline diverts, costs me a fortune.

Just out of interest are you diverting to a virgin mobile phone ?

Calls from a virgin landline to virgin mobile are free but I could never get a definate answer from virgin if it included diverted calls to a virgin mobile.

proof please:001_smile:

so far this season I have lost orders for about 8 loads because I missed the original call and the customer immediately called the next ad down in the local rag. In all cases I had returned the calls within 5 to 10 minutes. Annoyingly for boths parties i'm normally better value than the competition they ordered with.

If you have a modern mobile phone you can do this using voip. I have a local number that rings both my landline and mobile at the same time. Free too.

Android and iphone should both manage this.

This sounds interesting, have you got anymore info on it? Just googled it but it all got a bit confusing
