The dumpy bag is 0.8 of a cubic metre, we sell all our firewood y the cubic metre, we also state to the customer that we measure every cube loos in a cubic metre basket then tip this into the trucks, if we sell by the dumpy bag we stte that they are not the builders dumpy bags but are a cubic metre bags filled loose, you need to take note of what Steve said, if trading standards get you it will be ongoing.

very intresting thread, £258 for that load is bloody good going mate. when i rarely do sell a load, its around £120 for level load. youre doing well!

we got same style transit at work, with metal chip box on back approx 1ft higher than cab level, that, with basic tools, timberwolfe 150 chipper (3/4tonne) and around 4wheelbarrows of chip came in at 4238kg-scary. transits are siht for heavy loads

josh iv had new trannys old trannys, and there just no good. iv always had to revert back to my faithfull 05 tranny

it pulls and carrys anything, and is the best ever iv had on fuel...23 miles round the doors and max mpg 41.. and thats loaded..saying that if i was going to put the gready boards back on it would drink the fuel..

i never carry any tools, and sold the chipper...

make more money selling mulch-logs and chippings than i did with the tree side of work...

The best thing is to sell your wood as a level load not by wieght. I sell my trailers as a level load people can see it is the same every load. plus i was stopped on the A14 for carrying a load above the sides of my cabstar so by your picture you are over loaded a few logs falling off could do a lot of harm:thumbdown:

dave it always netted down...theres only about 1500kg -1800kg on the rear

Mate i've had more trucks than just about anyone I know [other than maybe Mr Ed] new ones, old ones, good ones, bad ones..

Your transit at the very most can legally carry 1.5tons, most probably 1.3 tons, no way do you have 6 cube on the back of that truck, you need to be carefull mate and do a volume calculation! if your telling customers you're selling 6 cube, you'd better be right! I know a builders merchants in London who was checked out, he had been selling 900kg instead of 1000kg of sand for years, he got a massive fine...
